AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1. A one day workshop at the RANZCP head office in February 2010 to present and discuss various potential models of psychotherapy training using STP funding
2. A report exploring the barriers and enablers to psychotherapy training places, informed by discussions held at the workshop

RATIONALE

• The focus of STP positions is the provision of learning experiences which are restricted or not able to be provided within public teaching hospitals. DoHA initiated significant discussion about the potential for trainees to be provided with private rooms as part of the original Expanded Settings Training Program
• While that initiative has been successful, the uptake within the settings noted above has remained limited in the 2008 - 2010 funding round (in private rooms). This project would attempt to engage those working in those settings to explore the factors that would encourage the widening of the training experiences to private rooms.
